whirlwind attack :o ?
just wondering if anyone uses whirlwind attack with there assassin? i know the stock + damage isnt that remarkable (around 14-20 with resonable rank), but it is free, heck with zealous and reasonable mob you would gain energy , and no attribute investment...
but with the buffs you can stack on physicals, orders, ebsoh, soh, might be pretty decent?
If the stars align with orders, soh, ebsoh and winowing, you could get close to +80 damage

Leave whirlwind for the Warrior and Dervish, they have HB and VoS which makes it worth it. Death Blossom spam does more AoE damage, and it is still useful against single enemies.

...except, of course, when all of your H/H (even before 7 Heroes) switch from targets they're already engaged with to rush over and "help" you by killing YOUR target before your off-hand attack finishes animating. (the only times I can regularly get combos off is against HM Bosses. :/ My Warrior doesn't have that problem - at least when using a regular weapon. The H/H regularly ignore his target calls when using a Sword/Axe/Hammer. Warrior switches to Daggers and they swarm...)

Dagger non attack chains and auto attacks are weak, dagger damage is derived from quickly spamming your dual attacks for the dual +damage and dual strike. If you really are hurting for energy (usually isn't an issue with 13 in Crit Strikes) Bring Critical Eye, and consider using Way of the Assassin and Critical Agility.

How would whirlwind help in that situation? Unless you are suggesting a sin run a sword/axe/hammer, which is just bad. I have also never experienced what you describe.

well if you do jagged > fox fangs > db, then repeat, theres actully time to auto attack once while u wait for jagged to recharge, so you could use it then perhaps
if you have soh and orders, damage would be about the same as db, db is two packets around 43damage each @ 14, so 86. when i tried it on the 60al test dummies i was getting around 90damage from whirlwind

With a non-dagger weapon, my H/H tend to leave my foes alone (even when I don't want them to), and even if they killed my direct target, at least with Whirlwind Attack you'd be doing some AoE damage that attack cycle instead of none at all.

Your hero behavior seems like a bug. Do you know if it happens to anyone else?
Thanks to pingu666 it has been shown that whirlwind is useful while waiting for fox fangs.
